About me
I sat these exams recently — and did well in them
I’m Rupinder, a medical student and the tutor behind RKM Learning. I got to medical school through the same Maths and Science exams your child is preparing for, so I teach them the way they are actually assessed rather than the way a textbook explains them.
Alongside my degree I have spent several years volunteering as a teacher for children, which is where I learned the part that matters most: how to explain something a second and third way until it finally clicks, without a child ever feeling silly for not getting it the first time.
How I teach
Lessons are one to one and live, so there is nowhere for a misunderstanding to hide. If your child says they understand something, I will ask them to show me — kindly, but I will ask.
I keep a running note of what we have covered and what still needs work, and that note is what the homework is built from. Nothing is set as busywork; if something is assigned, it is because it is the next useful thing.
What I expect
Turning up on time, having a go at the homework even when it is hard, and telling me when something has not made sense. That last one matters more than the other two.
What you can expect from me
Honesty about how your child is getting on, homework marked and returned before the next lesson, and a reply to messages within a day. If I do not think I am the right tutor for your child, I will say so rather than take your money.
Get in touch
Let's talk about your child
Ten minutes on a video call is usually enough to tell whether I am the right tutor for them. If I am not, I will say so.
